Stefan Rutzinger

Lecturer

Stefan Rutzinger is an architect and co-founder of Soma Architecture. He is a professor and co-head of the research group on Structure and Design at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Innsbruck. Prior to this he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, and a guest professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. Until 2016 he was a teaching fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and taught at the Technical University of Vienna.

Stefan’s interests and expertise lie in computational design strategies and aesthetics. Soma’s work has won numerous awards and prizes in international competitions and has been featured in renowned institutions such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, ArchiLab in Orleans, the Museum of Applied Arts and the Belvedere museum in Vienna, and the MAK Center in Los Angeles.
